Marker is a simple X cross, ruler is a line with marker X's on each end with a distance on the middle, circle shows a distance radius and angle of the err marked line.
First you choose which map drawing feature to use, ruler, marker or circle. There is also erase which simply deletes/erases/removes the map drawings you created.
